Best Jewelry at the Oscars

Confession: I don’t think I saw a single film that was nominated for an Oscar this year. But who cares, right??? I love to watch the red carpet just to see what people are wearing and let’s be honest, what JEWELRY they’ve chosen. It’s been a while since I’ve done a red carpet post, but seriously, there was so much AMAZING jewelry at the Oscars that I felt inspired. So here goes!

The Top Five Necklaces

Let’s start with necklaces. In my opinion, there were five clear standouts. The top spot goes to Matthew McConaughey’s wife. I literally stopped in my tracks when I saw this ruby stunner on Camile Alves:

<img class=" wp-image-2270 lazyload" src="" alt="Camile Aviles at the 2018 Oscars" width="425" height="239" srcset=" 1280w, 300w, 768w, 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 425px) 100vw, 425px" /> Camile Aviles, 2018 Oscars

I mean, WOW! Right?

And then Gal Gadot (who will away be Wonder Woman in my heart) showed us this aquamarine beauty:

<img class=" wp-image-2271 lazyload" src="" alt="Gal Gadot showcasing a Tiffany necklace at the 2018 Oscars" width="236" height="354" srcset=" 720w, 200w, 768w, 683w" sizes="(max-width: 236px) 100vw, 236px" /> Gal Gadot, 2018 Oscars

Apparently, this necklace from Tiffany is so cool it even has its own name – Blue Ice! I’m not sure how I feel about that, but I’m in love with the necklace! I especially love the asymmetry of it. The chain is platinum, and it has 17 different aquamarines and over a thousand diamonds. Wow! Plus, that Givenchy silver dress is to die for!

Apparently, Gadot is a longtime fan of Tiffany, and tried this necklace out with jeans and a t-shirt before wearing it own the red carpet.

My number three spot goes to Greta Gerwig. If you haven’t heard of her, don’t worry, I hadn’t either. It turns out she’s our only female in the Best Director category, so kudos to her! I haven’t seen Lady Bird, her film, but I have seen her exquisite taste in jewelry. This delicate moonstone necklace from Tiffany has my heart going pitter-patter. I especially love how non-matching it is with her dress, which is also quite beautiful (it was custom-made by Rodarte).

Lindsey Vonn is wearing my number four necklace. I think this ruby choker is a show stopper! I just got done watching her kill it on the slopes, winning the bronze for downhill at the Winter Olympics, and now here she is at the Oscars. Not a fan of her dress, but her jewelry was gold medal worthy!

My last pick for best necklace goes to Naomi Campbell, who looks really sleek and sophisticated with her white blazer and vintage Bulgari necklace. I mean, you are seeing that HUGE emerald in the middle, right?

The Top Five Earrings

Selecting earrings for the Oscars was so hard this year. There were SO many good ones! My top spot goes to Emily Blunt. Not only did she have amazing chandelier (aquamarine and diamond) earrings for the red carpet, she changed during the show to show us another pair! Nice!

<img class="size-full wp-image-2315 lazyload" src="" alt="Emily Blunt, 2018 Oscars" width="800" height="600" srcset=" 800w, 300w, 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /> Emily Blunt, 2018 Oscars

Check out these emerald earrings on Maria Menudos. Now only did they look awesome on the red carpet, you, yes you, can buy them yourself online. Now that’s what I like to see! Yep, these gorgeous babies are from London-based Anabela Chan.

<img class=" wp-image-2307 lazyload" src="" alt="Maria Menounos, 2018 Oscars" width="258" height="376" srcset=" 740w, 206w, 768w, 702w" sizes="(max-width: 258px) 100vw, 258px" /> Maria Menounos, 2018 Oscars

Normally, I feel like the press gives the Kardashians enough press, so I don’t have to. But I will say these emerald earrings, worn by Kendall Jenner, deserve a mention in my top five. They’re stunning!

<img class=" wp-image-2309 lazyload" src="" alt="Kendall Jenner, 2018 Oscars" width="271" height="407" srcset=" 720w, 200w, 768w, 683w" sizes="(max-width: 271px) 100vw, 271px" /> Kendall Jenner, 2018 Oscars

Next on my list is Emma Stone, who went all in with Louis Vuitton. I admire a woman who wears pants when everyone else is in dresses. The colorful custom satin tuxedo was paired with pretty diamond and garnet earrings. The garnets alone were more than 11 carats. And creating the earrings apparently took 245 hours.

My last pick for earrings is these turquoise ones that Isla Fisher is wearing. I especially love how she paired them with a red dress! Stunning!

The Top Three for EVERYTHING!

Some women just knocked it out of the park. Originally, I had only one pick, but upon reflection, there were three. First off, Tiffany Haddish! Where do I begin – the dress, the headdress, the rings???!!! She looked like a queen, it was amazing!

<img class="size-full wp-image-2336 lazyload" src="" alt="Tiffany Haddish, 2018 Oscars" width="800" height="600" srcset=" 800w, 300w, 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /> Tiffany Haddish, 2018 Oscars

My next favorite was the always gorgeous Andra Day. Like Emily Blunt, she changed during the show as well. She sang, and I almost fell off couch earn she came on stage with all those emeralds! Whoa, baby!

<img class="size-full wp-image-2339 lazyload" src="" alt="Andra Day, Oscars 2018" width="800" height="600" srcset=" 800w, 300w, 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /> Andra Day, Oscars 2018

And last, but not least, Helen Mirren! She looked completely classy in all blue, from her dress to her jewelry. Go girl!

<img class=" wp-image-2337 lazyload" src="" alt="Helen Mirren, 2018 Oscars " width="247" height="354" srcset=" 755w, 210w, 768w, 716w" sizes="(max-width: 247px) 100vw, 247px" /> Helen Mirren, 2018 Oscars

The Top Two for Pure Moxie!

Some women went a bit too far, but I have to say, I appreciate their ambition. First up is Salma Hayek. And while I absolutely LOVED that shade of purplely-pink that she wore, I thought the diamonds everywhere was a bit too much. She was covered in more than $4.2 million in jewelry from Harry Winston. But she definitely made a statement!

<img class=" wp-image-2317 lazyload" src="" alt="Salma Hayek, 2018 Oscars" width="415" height="311" srcset=" 800w, 300w, 768w" sizes="(max-width: 415px) 100vw, 415px" /> Salma Hayek, 2018 Oscars

Next up is Rita Moreno. This amazing lady wore the same dress from when she won Best Supporting Actress in 1962. I do like the black and gold, and I am completely jealous she still can fit into her dress. I give her lots of props!

<img class=" wp-image-2341 lazyload" src="" alt="Rita Moreno, 1962 &amp; 2018 Oscars" width="421" height="421" srcset=" 800w, 150w, 300w, 768w" sizes="(max-width: 421px) 100vw, 421px" /> Rita Moreno, 1962 & 2018 Oscars
